Of course he'll pull it off. It happened in real life already. These ain't one of those shows. It's by the same people who did entourage

They always was about jokes and fun and a few little issues that always got resolved as they all end up winning in the end

The show is light and reminds me of Entourage a lot, but it does seem like they are setting him up to fail on this aspect.

I don't know if he knows that southern accents vary by region, but almost no southern black person sounds like colonel sanders or foghorn leghorn.

The same southern accent this dude used in Holes. Sounds real grating and trying too hard with it; him doing a little research might've helped. Surprisingly, a lot of southern blacks' accent are not that distinct as many might think as portrayed on TV show and movies.
But Hill is from Jersey most of his life so that's probably how he thinks of regional dialects which is poorly generalized.
