That's what I'm saying. Yes the league has always been top heavy but these top heavy teams actually competed to the point where sometimes you didn't know who would win. Like that 2006 Mavs/Spurs series. Like the Spurs Pistons defensive finals brawls. The wars between the Knicks and Bulls or Knicks and Pacers where anything could happen in a tight game in crunch time. The best playoff series were close being decided by single digits going down to the wire. That's when basketball is at it's best. All the drama and adversity. The occasional upset. Watching a team really "earn" a title because they had to go through war to get there. Now all I see are blowouts, 3 point bricks, and more blowouts. Watch a Warriors series and it's almost kind of boring because there is no suspense. You just see one team dominating another. This is what Durant wanted. To be on a team where his team is guaranteed to win and there is no pressure for him to compete.
They don’t hear you though!!

Late 80s..Lakers/Celtics/Pistons/Bulls

Bulls dominated the 90s but Magic,Rockets,Knicks,Sonics were all in the mix.

Early 2000s Spurs/Lakers/Kings

Mid-Late 2000s Pistons/Heat/Mavs/Lakers/Cavs/Suns/Spurs

2010-14 Spurs,Heat,OKC,Lakers,Mavs

2014+ Cavs,OKC,GSW

The league has always been top heavy, but its never been a point in time where we knew for a fact who was going to raise the trophy at the end of the year like this.

You listed teams that were "in the mix" but had no shot at winning the title. If you can count the 80s Bulls, Kings, and the Shaq led Magic as in the mix then you can include the Rockets and a healthy Celtics squad as "in the mix" right now. In the 80s you knew the Celtics or Lakers were winning, in the 90s you knew the Bulls were winning. The Shaq and Kobe Lakers were winning the title and if they didn't it was their own doing, not because of what another team did.

So next year when Boston gets healthy, LeBron moves to another super team, Kawhi goes to Philly, and Houston adds a piece we are exactly where the NBA has always been.

No we are NOT!

Stop acting like a team that was already arguably the “greatest of all time” adding a talent the likes of KD and giving up NOTHING is like anything we have ever seen.

That’s like the 96 bulls adding prime Shaq, Barkley, or, Karl Malone.

They would have been more unbeatable then they already were which is really hard to quantify.

That’s where we are with the Warriors right now, NO TEAM is beating them in a 7 game series in the foreseeable future if they are healthy.

Not really everybody watch to cheer Curry....Even bitter old basketball fans like my parents....

It's not a player thing, tho. When you have a top team win ships 2 outta 3 seasons, about to 3 outta 4. They will a group of people who watch to see if the Warriors can be knock off. Typical in sports. There are people who don't want their sport to be dominated by one team.
