I already know for myself. Music festivals are a big part of Barcelona's identity. When I was there, a huge citywide festival was taking place called Montjuic De Nit. First I walked up on a black area of the city where they had live samba bands and hood liquor cocktails (a la Nutcrackers in Harlem). The area looked poor and rundown but the people showed loved, were friendly, and everyone had a good time w/o drama.
Afterwards I went to the music festival's main event which was a EDM rave inside an ancient castle.

Those Catalonians know how to party.
Best of all....it was all free.
