The wounds we suffer from life and how we recover from them define our growth as human beings. It's unfortunate that in this day and age that accountability and responsibility don't factor into a lot of our peers thinking regarding how we get into adverse situations and got ourselves out.

We never learn but do the same thing over and over hoping for a better outcome and in the process stymie our growth because we refuse to admit that it may be us, we may be our own worse enemies..such is the reward of living in such a selfish and demoralized society. Your scars are story tellers, reminders of the pain..what works and what doesn't..they don't fade and they'll never go away. I hope more people have "their moment" like you did and become bigger in spirit and hope, it would help make the Earth a little bit more bearable to live on.
