This is an interesting story cuz I keep wondering what Bosh's real angle is. I guess he could just want to keep playing for the love of the game but I doubt that's it. If he's smart he knows he needs to quit to be there for his family. I think he thinks there's no value in him just retiring even if he does have guaranteed money coming to him. So maybe he does want a front office job with the Heat or he wants them to buy his retirement.

If the Heat want to avoid that cap hit so bad they should make him an offer of between 25%-50% of what they will save having him off the books. Business is business.

He's been a part of nine parades in the NBA. Call it a bunch but I'd guess the only game that still gets him is 1984 game 7 and maybe 1994 game 7. He's won so much I don't think game 7 in 2005 eats at him much.
