Heaven. What is it to you? What will you be doing?

This is something I'd like to hear other people's view point on. I was raised in the south in AME and Baptist churches. All my life I heard hell is full of pain suffering and darkness. But in heaven is a paradise, where the streets are paved with gold and you worship and praise God all day. Between the two you want to go to heaven. But the older I got I thought, why is it paradise just to go be a servant? Why would a spiritual being place so much value on a metal? I've also heard you can have all your desires? I want to have sex with many different women on the regular, can I do that? For you guys though. What is heaven to you or what has it been told to you what it is? What do you imagine it is like and what will you be doing?

imo.. theres no such thing as good and evil..

time has proven to be a mental human construct.. so someone on a journey may chop up their life into good kid/reckless teen/free adult/religious person.. but this is proven as an illusion, so that religious person always had that reckless teen within them and vice versa..

just as at the height of meditation how a distraction will 'break the spell' .. at the worst point of someones life they could be presented with that decision that alters their outlook..

what you said in regards to sex in heaven is a big indication of my 'problem' with religion .. theres no real discussion on the morality of the soul and the purpose of the body.. we assume we will be the same person with our same physical properties as if theres an elevator to 'heaven' .. then peoples minds flick to their vices and no matter what they say, they get scared of heaven.. they associate more with 'hell', remove the torture and pitchforks and theyl be right at home lol.. its crazy to think that your soul would carry your crutches and vices from this world, you only picked em up as a result of your interaction with the world.. they are physical and if theres an afterlife they will die with your body..

I honestly believe that this life we live serves a purpose.. the duality of our consciousness indicates an internal struggle, and whichever voice you 'feed' will push you further in the direction you are destined to live out..

And finally look at the world situation, the brutal history and ridiculous aspirations of the people.. this place is pretty close to hell lol.. if you havent guessed i believe strongly in reincarnation and the concept of heaven and hell makes much more sense from this viewpoint.. i could go on and on but il end with a simple fact that is often ignored.. energy cannot be created or destroyed, it just changes form..

ahh that might be a problem lol.. i believe that all the dots are connected even when we cant see the link so theres so much i could branch into but someone who prefers to categorize life into seperate sections might raise an eyebrow at..

truthfully the realisations that shattered my views on traditional religion were a collection of historical sources and modern science.. then again religions based on reincarnation far predate abraham so i suppose those are the true 'traditional' religions.. but scientific proposals such as biocentrism (consciousness affecting your reality) and the multiverse/string theory go against everything our senses rely on and the life long pursuit of something physical (money) seriously skews a persons perception when it comes to the non tangible but equally proveable.. but this is nothing that a good dose of ayhuasca wont fix lol..

This is such a rich topic that i cant figure out where to start.. itd be good to see what some other posters think.. i'll be happy to answer anything in particular which you were thinking about though.. good thread btw

Some people even saw the Outer Darkness that Jesus mentioned in the Bible when having a NDE. Some people have said that when they were in the Outer Darkness, they heard a voice telling them to call upon Jesus, and He got them out of there and brought them back to this realm. The bottom line is that everything the Bible says about the concept of heaven and hell and how one receive eternal life or damnation is accurate. It's not really about our feelings and how we think things should be, it's about what it is.

An individual would have to be blameless in order to stand before God and receive eternal life. Since all of us have sinned, all of us are worthy of the second death in God's eyes. That's why he provided the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus at Calvary as an atonement for the sins of all in humanity as a pardon from this judgment. All those who accept the mercy of God and repent and puts their faith into this act made by Jesus will go onto eternal life. So the best you can do is label the origins of judaisim, christianity and islam as 'stuff' and ignore that your holy days are nothing more than glorified pagan solstice celebrations without any regard for the evidence behind tuthmosis, akhenaten and tutankhamun having a huge role to play in the monotheistic faiths and the inspiration behind fictional characters such as moses.. in addition to ignoring that modern documentaries on egyptian history focus more on the 15th dynasty onwards, the time where they had been infiltrated from the north east, a convenient period which saw egypt fall and greece rise and the creation of gods such as zeus ammon (discrediting previous 'gods and leaders' by borrowing from their description just as you are) which later became amen (you would love to call this a coincidence but it overlaps with earliest hebrew writings which can be dated back to this period) and im sure i dont have to tell you about amen in christianity and islam.. both of which came from judaisim..
