Yep.

One of the things that estranged him from Havoc, and partly why his solo work started becoming better than his Mobb Deep contributions, is Hav strong arming Quiet Storm from him.

Did not know this.

Edit: Just watched an interview he did talkin about it. :ohhh:

Def One of P's best verses.

I still don't know what happened to him After HNIC. His verses on Infamy was straight going through the motions shyt. :francis:

Other people have spoken on this (like @TheDarceKnight and @FunkDoc1112), but he got sober around Murda Muzik/HNIC because his sickle cell was triggered by a bad batch of coke. He was working on a Murda Muzik movie, got screwed out of the deal and relapsed, along with eating like shyt. Infamy is him going through a lot mentally and physically.

As far as why his voice/flow changed, I want to believe those things contributed to it, because it seems like something he was unaware of until people pointed it out to him.

Nah.

The Kim remix is the one. Seeing them perform that live at The Tunnel with Kim was some EPIC sh*t. Whole NYC went crazy for that. Which is probably why Hav said that that was the remix they didn't know they needed. The remix is a classic! One of their last great records too.

Real talk I ALWAYS said the original was better than the Remix and people just kept dikksuckin the remix and that Kim verse. P spit some of the best verses he ever spit on the original joint.
The original verse was a Source Hip Hop Quotable I believe

I definitely see the argument for people liking the remix more. P’s verses were better on the OG to me tho

Truth.

He took a backseat on the remix. But it's like Havoc said, the remix was the energy the OG version didn't have and needed. Really the perfect remix because it took the record to a different level. I still play that joint all the time. Serious classic!

Original is definitely killing the remix but I love em both regardless. They just got different energy as the Remix is more hype while the original is darker and more introspective. P's verses on the original are still the best. Both classics.
