Meh, doesnt matter who we sign as back up,if Rodgers goes down were done. We don't have a good enough line or running game to have an average QB look decent to good

add to that, if clay goes down we dont have a good enough defense to survive

I'm not excited about this team

This I disagree with. We have depth on the d-line and these younger players have really stepped up thus far. But losing a player like him would change how Dom plays though. I just don't think it will be as bad as last year.

do you think we can collapse the pocket with only 4 players?

They did great in the preseason and Jolly really makes the line better and also lets Raji play in his natural position as a DE. But dont forget, our pass rushing was not the problem last year (we were ranked in top 10 or better in sacks) it's run stopping. If they can some how stuff the run then we should be good.

I'd argue the opposite.

I think its a hybrid issue. I think we can't stop the run because we're scared of giving up 20+ yard pass plays. Then we can't stop the pass because we're worried about giving up 4+ yard run plays.

I thought they were horrible this preseason. We only get sacks off nickel corner blitzes, clay matthews athleticism & a delayed mlb blitz. You can't be a top 10 defense with that type of gimmick.

Unfortunately D. Jones was hurt/didn't play a lot. But if clay is the only person able to dominate 1 on 1, its going to be another 11-5/12-4 early exit.

First team did great this preseason. dunno what u saw. Hell even our 2nd and 3rd stringers did good. They kept seattle scoreless for 3 quarters and intercepted russell twice. We were ranked 11th in D last year. I doubt we go worse then that with another year for the young players

Our 1st team D had a very limited amount of snaps in the preseason. And I don't doubt that they put up good numbers. I'm just saying outside of clay matthews athleticism, micah hyde blitzing from the nickel position, and our mlb delayed blitz, we're not an impressive defense.

Case and point since you bring up the Russell Wilson interceptions. You pointing out these plays shows me you're not really being objective about this teams defense. You're still arguing it from the perspective of a fan. I'd challenge you to argue from the perspective of a seahawk.

Interception 1 - pause video at 3 second mark

Interception 2 - pause video at 26 second mark

Both of those plays highlight my primary concern with the defense. In both plays, Russell Wilson has ample amount of time to set his feet, think and throw. The error is on him as a passer. If I'm a seahawk fan, I argue that those 2 plays can easily be fixed through more reps/experience.

But as a Packers fan, how do I look at those plays as positive? There is 0 pocket pressure on both plays. You're just looking at the final result instead of realizing that our defensive line minus clay matthews is atrocious.

Hopefully you see through these 2 plays I'm not talking out my ass.

As a packer fan you should know that was our 2nd and 3rd stringers playing in which most of them are no longer on the team or on the PS squad. Thats why i specifically said our first team D did good this preseason with the limited time they had. No one scored on them and they didnt allow much big plays if any at all. I understand you're optimistic but trust me breh, this D will vastly improve from last year, just wait and see.

And at the end of the day the score board is all that matters. Seahawks starters couldnt score shyt against our real estate/car sales men :youngsabo:

WE READY

By the way, I got two good reads to get ready for the game:

1. Bob McGinn breaks down what Aaron Rodgers does from the second a play ends until he snaps the ball on the next day. Kind of fascinating stuff, not your typical column

2. In high school, before he even talked to him, Eddie Lacy practically bullied the 49ers' Eric Reid into not being a running back :lolbron:

We let Colin Kaepernick throw for 400 yards. It's gonna be a looooooooooonnng year. I feel bad for Rodgers. Has the pressure of knowing that he's gotta win shootouts every single game he plays.

0-1 brehs...I expect us to be 2-1 by the bye :birdman:

btw,I would feel more confident putting a plastic bag in the secondary and hoping an opposing receiver trips over it than leaving our safeties back there. :scusthov:
