because the word thug was a euphemism for a black male and the crime laws of both parties completely changed and revolve around the idea of punishing "thugs".
so anytime the word thug is used its generally in a setting that needs to maintain its credibility, either as a news report meant to be seen as an objective report on a phenomeon of "thugs" that seem to constantly commit horrific crimes which drives spineless cowards aka cacs to beg for legislation that targets "thugs"
or in campaigns where the leader of whatever party promises the spineless cowards of the country that theyll protect them from these "thugs" by proposing more and more draconian measures because its been proven to work.
tough on crime wasn't always a position that both parties held. and tough on crime is not found in any other first world nation but we got so many cowards that just arent smart enough to separate truth from fiction
the word is far worse than just a slick way to say ******, this word was used to cause immense suffering, destruction of families, gutting of the primary builders and leaders of a community, stripping of all employment potential and worst of all, the word placed all the blame on the victims because they were thugs and thugs are bad and deserved to be locked up.
being a coward is a major sin in my religion and i thought it was kinda harsh like damn its not that serious i mean some people are just scared but now I clearly see that cowards and fear lead to atrocities like this.
