I can read and write for the most sort but I definitely need to speak to people more to fully grasp the language. I’ve studied Spanish in middle and high school as well as college.

I also use various apps and have a new tutor.

I feel like I need to live in a Spanish speaking country to full be fluent though.

Help :damn;

Once you get pronunciation, conjugation, and word placement down, it's just a memory game. There's people that thought i was fluent just because i know how to pronounce all the letters. Pero tengo poquito español. Textbook "proper" Spanish will be understood by the majority Spanish speakers. Some will give you shortcuts (more common/concise phrases) to say what you just said, and some shortcuts you'll learn on your own.

I would say if you're actively practicing, anywhere between 4-12 months. Could be more, depending on how often you try and how well you can learn as you go.

Its not an easy language to learn, but the best way to learn is to go all the way in.
Listen to music, watch TV/movies you already know in spanish, and if you can travel and learn from folk. But here is the catch every latin and even spain got different dialects and some words mean something else in different countries. Good luck though.

The summer right after college I worked at a restaurant in Manhattan, and I became friendly with these girls from Spain who worked with me.. Even though I spoke Spanish, they obviously spoke it better and that helped a lot. Find some Spanish broads.

I would also say, try watching something on Netflix in Spanish maybe. That usually helps.

My Spanish is shyt now but it’s actually the first thing I spoke at home. But we had a bilingual household.

It’s contrived but really it’s always going to be about much work you put in. Using apps, watching, speaking and conversing with Spanish speakers, all of it. Immersing yourself into is probably the most sure-fire way,

People learn at different levels too. Some will take longer. Not much you can do about it.

It’s simple to say but that’s really it.

What’s your budget if you have one.

There is a site called BaseLang that’s good for learning Spanish. They also have a 7 day trial for a $1. You can do unlimited classes. It’s $149 per month but assuming you’re serious per lesson that’s prob best price.

For ransom lessons you can check out italki.

That or come to Miami
