ok, i have a $900 budget.
i don't need a power supply, monitor, keyboard or mouse.
i have a Radeon HD 6870 that is less than a year old, considering putting it in the new rig, but if i can get a better card and stay under budget i will however that is not a priority...it's still a pretty good card.

Buy 20 cores motherboard get about 15 gigs of Ram..and get a RW BLU-RAY in that and put 2 Terabyte Harddrives in it, and Triple Boot Windows 8, MAC OSX Mountain Lion, Linux Ubuntu and Put in 2 prototype Graphics card in it that you can find directly frum ATI and AMD labs.. and call the Computer. well it's gonna set him back a little since he will have the 1st x86 64bit with the MAC heart all running on one motherboard and since its the 1st RW BLU-RAY the world has seen.. might set him back a lil but when he gets both of those Prototype Graphic Cards AMD and ATI running together to form the NEW ROBOT.. PRICELESS

gonna keep my Radeon 6870 in the old rig so my girl can game on it with the TV.
probably gonna invest in a SSD in the future for the new rig...should be here in 9 days.

Yeah I'd recommend buying a 64GB or 128GB SSD to put your OS(s) on.

The boot time will have you like

Your Gonna need the following


A motherboard
A processor
A graphics card
A soundcard if your motherboards one is weak
A large bowl
A power supply
Rice
A CPU case

Pour everything above into the bowl
Then near a sunny window
For 10-15 minutes
And voila you will have a fully functioning PC
