Props...why the sneakers so cheap...these the jackie chan special (chinese knockoffs)?

What should I up the budget to? I aint tryna do too much breh, I just need a new look. I learned a long time ago that it really don't matter how much you spend its how you wear it.

What should I up the budget to, I was just throwing a number that I thought was reasonable. Also, bless us with some links homie.

If you are in NYC then hit up Uniqlo they have cheap gear that is stylish and fairly durable.

My non-expert opinion

More than anything, make sure your clothes fit you well.

Me personally I don't buy "outfits" really I buy pieces here and there and then try to make them work. I might see one pair of pants at a decent price but I try to pick stuff versatile so it can work with a lot of different combos.

People will likely shyt on the idea but I read gq.com and the The Sartorialist. I'm not looking for wholesale ideas just different slants on ways to wear what I have.

This site is a good catch all for affordable items Dappered | Affordable Men's Style

As far as sites:
jcrew.com
J.Crew Factory - Everyday deals on sweaters, denim, shoes, handbags & more.
Men’s Clothing: Shirts, Pants & Accessories for Men | Club Monaco
Casual Clothing for Men & Women | Canvas Lands’ End

Truth be told I only really cop from the sales sections.

Why I'nm thinking about it, I wouldn't go whole sale with buying clothes from different places until you realize how they cut there products. Of course you can always send stuff back but to some people that is a hassle.

tiebar.com as well
Don't buy anything online before checking retailmenot.com

For a nice shirt, whatever it costs. Just be flexible when you shop. I set a limit 40 most of the time for a shirt under normal circumstances, with another 40 on standby for something exceptional. Last time I went over was a little over a year ago...paid 60 for a dope tommy bahama button down because it was half price...

I didn't post links because online prices are stupid

Good post.

Fit is important, understand how different brands cut their clothes. In terms of shirts I find american retailers are usually big and boxy throughout while europeans are tighter in the chest and arms.

Most off the rack stuff won't fit you properly so try and find a decent tailor. Know what's easy to fix (hemming pants, taking in shirts) and what isn't (fit on shoulders).

Also don't go out and buy as much cheap shyt as possible. Do what ADD said and check out sartorialist/gq/esquire/people on the street. Look at them for inspiration and try and form a style of your own so that when you go shopping you pick up exactly what you want. You'll feel good about yourself you won't end up with a closet full of stuff you feel "meh" about.

For what you are trying to spend you can get you decent gear from Kohl's or look for sales at Belk's or Macy's. 60 bucks for an outfit is kind of stretching it but it can be done and you can still have a decent wardrobe. You can even look at JC Penney's for clothing items if you are on a budget. You don't have to have a particular brand to be dressed nice. Though ima Polo and Levi's man myself.
