Help me get into Anime brehs

I never could get too deep into Anime except for Pokemon growing up, but lately I think I'm starting to see more of the appeal. I just watched Akira (1988) and I loved the neo dystopian feel, the dark gritty 80s animation. Any other films similar to that id like? I tend to like the darker, 80s and 90s style. Any good anime horror?

Ghost In The Shell and Texhnolyze are great gritty mature dystopian (tech) anime.

And Berserk (the OG series) will also be right up your alley I think.
