Idk IMO the audi looks a bit more dated cause the facelifted version they changed the headlights.

I live in NYC and you just don't see Porsches (in regular/gentrified neighborhoods at least) I've only seen a 991 once in fort greene. So the 997 still looks like "the" new one. It's only the tails that may give away it's age. Provided I don't do the swap to look like the facelifted:scheme:

Has anybody here driven either or?

Obviously for an ultimate decision I'll take both for a spin, but can anybody share driving experiences of both or one?

the audi is 3800lbs:flabbynsick:. I won't be able to whip it properly on a test drive but hopefully it doesn't feel like a big downbertha like the e92?
If you want the 911, download the maintenance pdf file.
Maintenance Intervals - Porsche Service - Service & Accessories - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG
Call up a dealership and ask how much the minor and major intervals cost.

You could just take an L and buy a Toyota Highlander. Less car headaches and more money to keep in your pocket.

Then definitely NOT a Porsche ... If it was a 2nd or 3rd car yea, the the Audi is a built daily driver that will give you less problems, it's is also a newer car and you are worried about costs, the Porsche is going to run you much more money in the longrun to maintain with expensive parts.

See there was a IMS bearing issue with the 996 Porsches. I was reading up on it and apparently early 997s were affected too so thats a potential time bomb. Coupled with the fact Id be spending more just to drive off the lot with the porsche and probably end up with a deeper money pit, bottom line it was a car with a 80-100k msrp, as far as cost of ownership i might end up biting off more than i thought i could handle.

As opposed to the Audi where I can still get one under warranty:ehh:

Thinking with my brain instead of status hunting the choice is clear.

@Ricky Church thanks for the help:stopitslime: but Im joining the team:takedat:

I recommend the A5. The S5's you could afford will need the timing chain service sooner than later and it's around 6-10k.

I don't even think you could find a 997 sub 50-60k miles for 40k. Then what you'll park it on the street in the city? :heh: Nah, you'll have to spend 200-300 a month to garage it unless you want it to get dings all over it and plus you'll get tickets all the time. Cars cost a lot more than the note.
