Its like Darko in 2003, barely any footage on him, he averaged like 8 pts in 12 minutes a game, and it made scouts think hes a top prospect.

Or it might be they need to hype up a white QB because the 2 clearly best QBs in this draft are Watson and DeKizer

QB's are always going to be ranked high on draft boards, just due to the nature of the position and value of that position. None of those articles are hyping him at all, saying he should be a lock for #1 overall or anything along those lines.

Hype would be when Andrew Luck was drafted, not this.

Another thing -- Trubisky didn't even do anything tremendously impressive in his one year as a starter. Went 8-5 and lost four of his last five games, with the only win being against The Citadel

My guess is that they're looking at that Florida State game as somehow being indicative of his output level....? He was 31 of 38 for 405 yards and 3 TDs with no INTs in the win.....and I'm like "uhh, didn't Florida State have a DOWN year defensively last year?" Like, they gave up five yards per play on AVERAGE last season, and even WE (Nebraska) allowed less points per game than Florida State did last season, that's not saying ANYTHING for their defense.

I disagree. You can't NOT be hyped if you're considered a #1 pick and you only have 13 starts. To the contrary, that EXEMPLIFIES being hyped up. Also, him being hyped "due to the nature of the position" STILL doesn't explain why HE in particular is being lauded moreso than two dudes who have FAR MORE starting experience than him. That's not QB-specific, it's TRUBISKY-specific.

He's being lauded by all the NFL pundits and analysts on all the talk shows. I PERSONALLY saw Bill Polian on "Mike & Mike" this morning talking about Trubisky is "the best of the QBs coming out", and I'm like .

So I'm not sure what you've been watching, my friend, but ere'thing I've been watching has been hyping this dude up like no other. In FACT, if you look at the other responses in this thread, I clearly am not the only person who feels like this dude is being UNDULY hyped up.

It's a combination of his agent putting out false flag stories, the NFL needing a great white hype QB that looks the part for suspense/ratings, and media analysts going along with the first two because they need views on their stories too. If anyone picks him in the first round their entire scouting staff should be fired.

hes pretty overrated. not quite as blaine gabbert-esque like I initially thought, but his problems dont correspond with what spot people think he should be drafted at.

I think his only two big strengths are accuracy vs zone defense and a big arm. thats not something thats enough to be drafted in top 2-5.
