I keep everything in the same place i find it at the grocery store. If i get it from the freezer section i put it i the freezer, etc

I don't even think that makes sense either. Can a roach really open a box or fit through the sealed flaps like that? We roll the cereal bag closed and use a little plastic clip on it before pushing it down into the box and sealing the box flap. I cannot see insects or bugs penetrating that shyt.

And even with mice, can a mouse get on top of a fridge like that?

I hate to say this but that is a holdover from being poor and living in a house with insects/rodents to protect your food.
