finished off 3 days of binge drinking. needed inspiration to stop this non-sense.

how you holding up breh.
I’m doing great. Still sober, and still liking being sober. I never thought I would say that. I used to love drugs and alcohol. Now I love being clear minded and I’m a much more productive member of society. There are of course days where I want to drink, but I always keep my AA chip with me. I don’t want to fukk up this period of sobriety. I see the chip, remember how terrible life was when I drank, and then remain grateful for being sober now.

It’s difficult, but you can do it. It took me 2 rehab stays, but it worked. If you get a good period of sobriety, you will understand that you don’t need to drink, and you will actually feel better from not drinking.

I don’t know your story, but that last 90 day rehab really instilled in me the benefits of not drinking. I needed that intense of a rehab. I couldn’t get clean, and stay clean, without that treatment. I was blacking out and shaking every day, so I was in deep. I dunno how deep you are in, so maybe just AA will help you. However, if you drink all the time, and get shakes when you don’t drink, you’re at a serious point. If you're shaking, you need to go to professional detox at a hospital. You can die from alcohol withdrawal. I hope you’re not at that point, but if you are, you can still make it through.

Best of luck, breh. You can do it

Thanks breh. Plenty of black outs but no shakes thankfully.

The insomnia is killing me though. This alone makes me want to stop for good.

I'm 33 and a weekend without drinking seems impossible and over the last couple of weeks, I've been drinking during the week with more frequency.

I'm over it. I'm engaged and I want to be clear and healthy.

Here we go.

Yeah the insomnia shyt you said is true. When I'm sober and I couldn't get sleep so well so I need to drink so it make me go to sleep easily.

Definitely true. The first month of sobriety at the second rehab, I slept, at max, 4 hours a night (sporadically too). I just couldn’t sleep. It was terrible. I knew drinking would fix the problem, or sleeping pills, but of course those are narcotics, and you can’t take any mood altering substances. I’d say it took several months to get back to a normal sleeping pattern. shyt sucked for real

Yup, it likes only get 3 hours sleep then you wake up and couldn't back to sleep until an another hour and a half finally go back to sleep but again you only get one hour sleep again.

Since you couldn't sleep and get bored so I decided to watch the movie/anime,etc on my laptop while I'm in my bed so hopefully can cause me to sleep, sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't cause it takes me hours to get sleep. That's when I realized alcohol messed up my sleeping pattern, etc. You have to get up in the morning and go to work and you come home and take a nap cause you're damn tired so after that you couldn't sleep at all so you need a damn alcohol or sleeping pills. I refused to use sleeping pills.

Anyway, After I learned all that shyt. I know about Power Nap (Only take 10- 20 minutes nap) after that I workout. Not eating anything at all after 7pm
