Help With A Wordpress Blog

I am sure this is a common problem, I am trying to set up a basic Wordpress sports blog that doesn't look like a blogspot generic blog, but I am really struggling to understand the Wordpress interface on how to make my vision come to life, can anyone help?

So how long does a regular license last for a themeforrest template before you have to renew?

I don't think anybody truly answered this but with Themeforest themes, a single license is yours forever, once you purchase it. You can read more about the licenses here:
