it's not the same shyt. thca is weed, true enough, but the difference is it's been harvested two weeks earlier than regular weed, and hasn't gone through a proper drying and curing process.

now all growers and just anyone who knows anything about weed knows how crucial those final few weeks are in the growing process while you're waiting for the trichromes to change, then the flushing process if you do that, and then the time spent drying and curing the weed. there's people out here that cure their weed for months, even a year or so, before they smoke it. and that's where the difference is.

today i'm going around to my people and i'm gonna buy about an eighth from everyone so i can decide what i like before i buy a couple zips, so i bought a couple grams of the thca to smoke last night. i'd smoked it before, many times, and many different brands, and it ain't nowhere near the same when it comes to the effect. there's no pressure behind the eyes, and that's what i'm looking for. i've never smoked thca that's made me put the joint out. ever.

now if you know some quality thca let me know and i'll get a little just to try it, but i'll never stop smoking the real deal.

What agency is monitoring these companies to verify that they are harvesting 2 weeks early or even early at all?

If there is no agency to monitor or verify, what incentive do the growers have to follow this?

I’ve personally grown myself as a hobby, so I’m familiar with the process. I’ve also tried at least a dozen online vendors, and countless dispensaries in legal states. It’s the same, you can hit and miss like anywhere else. All dispensaries list very high thca and very low thc, but online quality >>>>> 90% of dispensaries.

I also get to see lab reports on each pack.

its a pretty funny story. it basically happened by accident and incompetence. it could've only ever happened under the trump administration, because literally any other administration would actually read the legal text before signing it. trump just saw "farm bill 2018" and signed it. because hes stupid.

the idea was to expand the hemp market in america. it made hemp containing THC under a certain threshold legal, and not part of Schedule I, which opened up a legal grey area already inhabited by CBD. scientists figured out you could extract delta-8 THC (delta-9 THC is the "bad" one) from hemp plants and sell it like CBD. Delta-8 THC could be considered an analog drug of d9, but i guess since it was extracted from actual hemp plants containing less than a certain amount of d9 THC (and not actually synthesized), it was... legal.

its kind of stupid that theyre going after this stuff, because its basically diet weed. meanwhile, scientists figured out how to extract 7-hydroxymitragynine from kratom plants and started selling that over the counter. and people are getting addicted to that now too.

but basically the 2018 farm bill blew open the legal/grey market and they wanna put the toothpaste back in the tube
