its true, but i'm admitting its not fair to compare games made in 2007-2011 to a 2013-14 game.

The only places Tomb Raider doesn't hold a candle to Uncharted is story / characters and puzzles. Comparing pure gameplay to gameplay Tomb Raider was better. The cast was garbage though.

i preferred the tomb raider puzzles (no digging through books, trynna figure shyt out) and i cosign you on the story, but i did find the TR story engaging.

just played both back to back so its kinda fresh in my mind. if you really spent 30 hours on tomb raider, you know its true. i only spent about 18 hours on the LoU campaign

Nah all jokes aside, I only have that much time on it because on PC I've often left it on for a while and messed with the graphics at times doing nothing but testing shyt.

Seriously though, I just found the gameplay in Uncharted 2 to be better. Not being able to lob grenades at enemies, hang and shoot and the overall fluidity of the controls of UC2 compared to TR made it a better feeling game. I tested this in MP and TR really doesn't hold up while UC2 MP is really good. Co-OP adventure, arena and TDM are great in UC2 and basically flips that "Uncharted gameplay isn't good without set pieces" argument I see creep up from time to time.

TR 13 is better than Uncharted 1 from a gameplay and set piece perspective and I find Uncharted Golden Abyss comparable to TR story wise. Golden Abyss was garbage(since it wasn't made by ND it seems likely.)

i'd say they were about even w/the edge given to tomb raider. LoU had some pretty opened up levels though.

what you mean? i recently played both definitive editions back to back. LoU and tomb raider had similar sized stage sizes, only difference is TR was more enjoyable to explore to me.

Give me a linear game with a fast pace and tight well done narrative then corny open world games stuffed full of fetch quests and dumb shyt just to pad time any day of the week.

Every time I play an open world game all i think is you spend like half the game just pointlessly travelling between points.

Oh heres a mission, travel across the map to shoot a guy. Now your next mission, travel back across to map to collect something! Ad nauseum.


No thanks. Open world games are boring padded fetch quests.


And tomb raider wasnt open world, the story and characters were on par with a n64 game.

If the gameplay in tomb raider is good. Why is the multiplayer so terrible? Multiplayer is just gameplay driven and you couldnt pay people to play it.


Tomb raider was one of the easiest games Ive ever played. Stop gassing mediocre gameplay.

Exactly. It makes sense for a game that has "great" gameplay to be at least good in multiplayer but TR isn't. Every other game that's praised for it's gameplay usually has great multiplayer.

They pass the test but somehow TR's MP doesn't?? It can't have nothing to do with the way it's implemented as people can sit here all day telling you about how broken MW2 MP is or w/e but it's got people playing it for hours.

Garbage running animations, terrible weapon sound effects, bland and basic level design, boring character chatter. It basically looks like a different game that's not Tomb Raider.

there's a lot of games that have solid campaigns with tacked on multiplayers. uncharted 2-3, last of us had solid multiplayers though

I feel like a game with MP that would be considered pretty good by most folks would pass as a game with solid mechanics. You can't have a mediocre playing game that is solid online. It doesn't even make sense.
