Update:
Date: Sunday 26th of April, 2020.

Kenya as of now has a total of 355 infected people, 235 active cases,
106 recovered and 14 people who have died. The UK has 105,225 infected people, 1,918 recoveries and 20,732 people who have died as of now.

"The Oxford team is also working with researchers in Kenya about a possible vaccine trial there, where the rates of transmission are growing from a lower base.

[…]

"Of course, we have to test it and get data from humans. We have to demonstrate it actually works and stops people getting infected with coronavirus before using the vaccine in the wider population."

Prof Gilbert previously said she was "80% confident" the vaccine would work, but now prefers not to put a figure on it, saying simply she is "very optimistic" about its chances.

Is it safe?

The trial volunteers will be carefully monitored in the coming months. They have been told that some may get a sore arm, headaches or fevers in the first couple of days after vaccination.

They are also told there is a theoretical risk that the virus could induce a serious reaction to coronavirus, which arose in some early Sars animal vaccine studies.

But the Oxford team says its data suggests the risk of the vaccine producing an enhanced disease is minimal, and data from animal studies has been positive.

Scientists there hope to have one million doses ready by September, and to dramatically scale up manufacturing after that, should the vaccine prove effective."

Kenya's response.

"Govt rejects UK scientists’ bid to test Covid-19 vaccine in Kenya

Kenya says it has not granted permission to Oxford University scientists in the United Kingdom to conduct human trials of a coronavirus vaccine on its citizens.

BBC reported that a British scientist had picked the country to start its tests of Covid-19 trials in Kenya if tests in UK don’t get the expected results."

Folks voluntarily take part (including 800 Brits for this one) in clinical trials all the time.

What is the concern about conducting the testing in Kenya so long as the participants are willing and compensated?

It’s cool that Brits are volunteering.
Let’s look at some other facts.

Kenya as of now has 336 infected people, 95 recovered and 14 people who have died.

Britain has 105,225 infected people, 0 recoveries, and 17,372 people who have died as of now.

What has Kenya to do with Britain, that is question. It’s not as if there is this great historical economic companionship. So from where did you get the idea that there’s going to be any compensation? These are out of this world type of thoughts, based on fantasies.

Everyone needs to calm down. They asked Kenya, Kenya said no.

At this stage they are also testing it in the UK. Hell, I volunteered, but I am told far away from the testing zone.

I opens an interesting question to the OP @Gebor - if testing is successful and the vaccine works, who gets it, and in what order?

It wasn’t a question, but a suggestion. And Kenya said: Nope, ain’t gonna happen!

If the vaccine is successful it will go to them first, no matter the order. Let’s say it would have been tested Kenyans, or other Africans first. They still would have distributed it first to their own people, it tested successful.

How do I know? Because of recorded history.

All these “you do as I tell you, and if not you will suffer the consequences!” intimidation tactics are typical imperialistic ways. It’s part of eugenic troll/ bullying science.

Now I have a question for you. Why didn’t they test malaria vaccines in Europeans first?

As a matter of fact, show me any recorded history, where they helped out Black people over themselves first. I will make it easy on you. Show specifically the Britons.

I wait.... tap tap tap...
