i never took advantage of putting my designs on the market...i will though when i get back on it.
i made money by taking requests from posters on

You can set up an webstore for free on there, make your own designs and put them on products, and sell them for comission. Plus you can make designs on there and charge for them so if you're not selling any products, anytime anybody else uses your designs...they pay for them.
I'll admit, most of the designs and products I have are just reapproproated stock designs that I just put in a specific way. They're paid for and the cost for each graphic besides the base price of the garment (t-shirt, hoodie, bag, etc) goes into the total of the finished product. At the time I made the spreadshirt, I didn't even have a copy of photoshop, so I hit the stock designs and saw what I could come up with.

i kept my royalties pretty low. in retrospect i should have charged more because i was doing custom designs for people.

I keep my royalties and commissions low just to have affordable stuff on my site.
I've made some sales recently...I've been promoting it on my tumblr mainly (because really that's the basis of the whole line/collection hence the name).
