This. This is especially true for upper middle class blacks. There's this inherent conservatism that I think works against us sometimes. I understand the hesitation when your family is only 1 or 2 generations from being working class, but at some point we need to come to terms with the fact that many of our best and brightest are just playing into the status quo by not taking risks. By not starting businesses. By not partnering with one another and building. It's cool to have a stable 9-5 that pays well with good benefits, but if you step back and take a look at things, that's not competitive in the long run. The stories of folks like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg come to mind...kids who came from solidly upper middle class backgrounds who were willing to take a shot at something that amounted to a quantum leap in the fortunes of their families. We HAVE to have folks taking those kinds of risks.

The only people held accountable for anything is black women. When black men screw up, there's a myriad of excuses (white supremacy etc). There are even some black men who able that the reason there are so many black men in prison is because black women are setting them up lmao.

And regarding your second point, all men make more money than the women in their racial group, but the gap between black men and black women is the narrowest and with black women outpacing black men in educational attainment, I believe black women will eclipse black men within ten years or so.

My parents did put me on this type of thinking years ago. Most importantly spend money with your own and if you're in a position to hire people, hire your own. I've heard my pops turning down someone applying for a manager position because that person was white in the company he runs. I thought it was wrong at first but the reasoning behind it was perfect (group economics)
