He's not perfect, but where does Tariq Nasheed stand with you as a black voice in the media?

From reading his posts or other posts, I did not read or interpret anyone saying that women should be ignored simply because they have vaginas. I think you are reaching on that one. Black women should not be neglected, but many agree that black men have to take most of the leadership responsibility in our community.

Males in General should be the protectors and the providers. Don't you agree?

be right back. Finding posts where men specifically said that women should be neglected or put on the back burner until all black men are on the right path (I mean...that's why I asked the question in the first place).

I'll will never be tired of being a self-sufficient person (that is a characteristic that should define all human beings). Also, I never want to be a weak person (not sorry).

Putting myself last (ONLY BECAUSE I WAS BORN WITH A VAGINA) will not create the utopian, communal society that you described above nor will it guarantee that any of the men you described will reach back to pull me up (especially given my experiences with "successful" black men and women in general). We all know that if black women are ignored while black men are the only ones helped and uplifted, we'll just end up with a bunch of men regurgitating the conservative rhetoric of "I did it, why can't they." We will end up with a bunch of men who want absolutely nothing to do with the women of their race.

I will not be a third, hell fourth, class citizen (even if you and others like you believe that I am one). I will NEVER allow myself to believe that I and my personal issues don't matter. I will NEVER believe that improving the lives of black girls and women can only happen AFTER everyone else is way better off. I will NEVER ignore my issues simply because I have a vagina.

You are welcome to work toward the society that you want to live in (where some people don't matter as much as others), and I will continue to work toward the society that I want to live in (where I help black woman and men).

I appreciate these discussions because it only makes me realize that I have a huge task at hand in regard to continuing to help ALL those in need. I never considered it my fight, but from this moment forward, I will work to ensure that other races and even my own (sadly) see the humanity in black women.

*Thinks to self* Ain't I a person
lol, :dead:

and

smh

but luckily, confused women can be ignored. Eventually you will realize that allowing men to take their place and women to take their is the sign of a strong community (look at any period that blacks were building economically... or any successful community in the history of human beings). Feminism is a clear sign of a failing and sick community.

Sure, focus on improving the lives of black girls--- but you also need to realize that black women will be viewed negatively and will still take Ls statistically (health, kids, marriage, perception) until we focus on uplifting our men as well.

black women are frightened by the idea of black male leadership. instead of believing the resources and wealth would be used to shield, protect and promote black women. they think an empowered black man would basically skip off into the sunset with a white woman -- part of the reason they desire dudes they can easily control with finances.

let them have their imaginary dikks, they'll still bytch and whine about how all the other races of women are treated in comparison to these wannabe men.

I'm okay with being ignored by a no name message board poster (although he took the time to quote me). Women are going to be viewed negatively regardless because we are women.

I don't usually view women negatively.........and you're irrelevant so I wasn't speaking specifically about you. I was speaking about other confused women who lack understanding of social economics and community structure.

The black community is at war, we don't need divisions or people who are Over the top defensive about their gender. The only women that will be viewed negatively are disgusting embarrassing smuts, shameless bedwenches, and feminist. .............all those poisonous groups only make up a fraction of black women, so we can still feel good about loving our sisters.

My man or woman, we can only do so much at a time.

We have to get the men on the right path before we do so for our eomen. THEN the black man can lift his woman up.

I then asked for clarification about whether he was saying black women whole be ignored until all is right with the black man. He didn't answer but someone else did by saying:

WHO FREAKIN CARES, DOG!!! DUDES GETTING THEY HEAD BLOWN OFF, ONCE THEY GET RID OF THE MEN, YA'LL FREAKIN ISSUES DONT MATTER ANYMORE

To which I respond:

I care because my life matters too. You may not care about my life and livelihood (because I'm just a woman) and you ARE entitled to your own opinion, but I matter too sweetie. My mom, my sister, my nieces, and female cousins matter just as much as my dad, my brother, my nephews, and my male cousins.

My life isn't worth less because I'm black and it's definitely not worth less just because I'm a woman.

The original poster that I asked for clarification also said:

We can work together, but we have to have goals set. Can't be all over the place just yet because we are so fractured.

It should go like this:
1. Get our men right because we have to be the front line in any war. Our women are floating right now because the black man had his nuts cut off right there in front of her and the kids. Once we get our men minds right...

2. Uplift our sisters who I see walking in this hot ass sun dragging 3, 4, kids to come get food stamps. Breaks my heart! But once we get our men right, that nan can either walk with the sister, keep the kids at least, or better yet HE do what he has to for his family.

3. After the adults are good...we get knee deep in these kids ass and let them know how things gonna be from here out!

4. Then we take it to these cave roaches as a unified force.

To my question for clarification and my response to another poster who said "who cares" when I asked a question, emoney states:

Black men (Men period) are the protectors and providers of the community. If we can't protect or provide for you, then your vulnerable to men of other races. I understand your concerns but if we are not stronger than you, then how can we protect you? If we are not wealthier than you then how can we provide for you? Aren't you tired of being strong and independent?

He jumped in a discussion related to why one group deserves help before another group. A discussion about one group to be help until the other group was right.

I am 100% down for black male leadership; however, I am not okay with saying one group should wait for help until another group is fully served because I am a woman and they are men. My whole point is why can't we help everyone at the same time and to that I've gotten because "men are leaders, they should make more, and etc, etc, etc"

Why are you guys so scared of black women standing up for themselves? Let's be honest, none of us care enough to address the issues black women face. Why the hell are we gonna get angry when they do?

I don't think no one is scared...I love the fact Black women are standing up...But there is a difference between standing up and being a black feminist...

Trust me, a lot of this anger is because of fear. Black men are scared of being left behind. I have no issue with black feminism as long as they understand that at the end of the day white supremacy is the enemy.

I don't think Black men fear being left behind...If sisters are against white supremacy Im all for it...I love me a conscious sister...But it seems as if Black Feminist that i have seen popularized lately are only against Black men or supporting what ever white feminist say...Thats my issue...

A black woman and a black man issue is still a black issue...And I care about black issues.
