Self-sufficiency is an illusion. None of us are really self-sufficient. How are you a self-sufficient? food, shelter and clothing....Do you kill or grow your own food?
Did you build your own home or apartment? Do you sew your own clothes? We all know the answers to these questions. Your a city girl with a desk job. The luxuries you have...someone allowed you to have. If self-sufficiency was a characteristic that defined us all this society would collapse. We live in a capitalistic
society that thrives on inequality to make the exchange of goods, services and knowledge possible. What I described was not utopian...it's the way other races are structured which is why they don't have similar problems to Black people in America. Your against patriarchy because you haven't seen it in play on a large scale in a while. As I said, your fear (which is understandable) is the reason your oppossed to black men being the priority and getting in positions of power. But understand this, women never have and never will build, maintain or run any community. As you get up there in age, you will stop this strong and independent rhetoric you spewing on here...I guarantee it.
show me the numbers
You are still duckin the numerous requests from several different posters that have requested that you provide exams of Tariq saying or being mysoginist in any of the hidden colors films as you have accused him of doing.
How much longer are you going to deflect, give ambiguous responses and straw man arguments and continue to lean on baseless claims?
I like what the dude has done and is doing. He's a business person who speaks to the importance of black people getting an economic base and doing for self. And if you pay attention, he's always laced that into his shows....even years ago.
I can appreciate the fact that he's DOING SOMETHING. A lot of black like to talk about what we should do or what "these rich blacks" should do or what their city council should do. I like the fact that Tariq clowns those people and questions what they are doing to make the change blacks need.
It takes a lot of people doing a little....not a few people doing a lot. That's one of the overall messages I get from dude. Stop waiting and start doing. Start a business. Start donating to black causes instead of turning up in the club every week. Start learning your history. Start improving the quality of your life, so you aint dusty anymore.
And for all the people upset that he makes money off Hidden Colors, what kind of thinking is that? It takes money to put out documentaries....especially well-produced ones. So, that money is him recouping some of his investment as well as having money to do more projects. The Kickstarter campaigns don't cover the full amount of the films.
Not to mention, would you ask AMC or United Artists or Cineplex to give out free movies when you want to see a movie? No, but you expect dude to film, edit, produce an distribute his stuff for free.....and take huge losses while doing it. And give out the DVDs for free. And do lectures for free.
And Tariq is not the only one who complains about this. Many of the same well-respected people that Tariq puts in Hidden Colors have the same exact complaints as he does. How blacks bootleg their lectures and sell them on the streets. How blacks want them to lecture but don't want to pay their fee. How blacks want them to travel to their event but won't take care of their travel and hotel. But then complain when these speakers don't want to do the event.
N#ggas got life and bullsh#t all the way switched up.
Peace
Tariq would have to change A LOT about his view of women, Black women in particular, to ever have Black feminists approach him about anything productive at this point. I have seen screen shots of the beef from both sides. It is a full blown mess.
He just dropped another podcast on this very issue

Why can't Tariq be divorced from Hidden Colors as a platform?
The issue with Tariq and other Black capitalist is just how much $$$ are they using for group economics? If we can get a Black base in the South, something like Switzerland is ideal.
I don't get your point?
Dude is creating content. He can't do it all by himself...but the message is essential
When you preach group economics, which is a good message, you need to produce receipts. Tariq could be more transparent.
how much more transparent should the guy be?
Dude tells you what he invests in, clearly he creates content and sells merch
He tells us what Black businesses he invests in? Where in HC has he traveled to Black businesses?
Tariq does some good but he needs to keep refining his approach.
????
Now you're just moving the goalposts here.
This is like asking why Obama hasn't started his own computer engineering firm
