Most players aren't left open because that's what defenses are supposed to do unless they disrespect you so much they just let you shoot like teams have done with Lebron since the 2014 finals. :mjpls:

Its only disrespectful if you don't understand what they are trying to accomplish. Its essentially a zone defense. They're giving up jumpers in an effort to take away his inside game.

The legend of Kobe's playoff success is so grossly inflated.

People completely ignore that he really never went off in the playoffs and often shot a forgettable percentage in doing so. He had to rely heavily on elite frontcourt play because kobeball was just too erratic and unreliable.

Now when an MVP struggles in a playoff game, they call him a fraud, completely ignoring that Kobe's 2008 MVP award accompanied one of the most thorough asskickings in professional sports history.

When a player has an offgame and shoots poorly, they insert prime Kobe on that game and imagine victory, ignoring that his own finals shooting percentage teeters around 40%.

When a player doesn't make a game winning shot, they talk about how Kobe would have made it, even though he had plenty of chances in playoff situations and missed almost all of them.

The selective memory is amazing.

The selective memory of you ignoring Kobe destroying Spurs and kings in the west (better teams than Brons ever faced) is hilarious especially since you've watched every game Kobe's played.

why the fukk does it matter when they scored their points, it's the same game. Since the game slows down in the 4th there's perhaps a little, little more value to score late but it's not really a big difference. Points are points nomatter when they're scored.

He played well in those series, but they weren't all that memorable. Blame Shaq for that.

And what criteria are you using to say that the early 2000s Spurs and Kings are better than any team of the last decade?

Personally, I'm fond of Kobe's epic 6/24 FG performance in 2010's game 7 vs the celtics.

The way he passed the ball to Ron Artest to actually score :whew:

The killer instinct shining through with every brick :blessed:

What a game :wow:
Black Mamba mode. :wow:

How about game 1 against the Magic? Re entered the game with 6 mins to go in the 4th quarter of a 25 point blowout. Scored his 40th point with less than 2 minutes left to secure a 24 point lead, then subbed out because he isn't a statpadder per @Swagnificent

The Lakers were up 20+ in the 3rd that game. It was 82-58 at the end of the 3rd. Kobe did have 40, 18 of which came in the 3rd, but it was really only close in the 1st quarter.

And yea someone who scores 81 in a game isn't a stat padder.

Low percentage shots are their specialty. They learned from the best.
