Pau averaged 18/11/3 while Kobe averaged 28/8/3... Don't see how Pau deserved it either. I mean, Bean shot 40% and Pau 47%... especially when you consider the fact that Kobe scored more points than Pau in every Lakers W.
Pau had 1 fewer assist on the series and 14 fewer turnovers. He didn't have any rebounding games that skewed his average like having 15 in a game where there were about 100 to grab no exaggeration. He also was taking 13 shots a game compared to Kobe taking 23 shots a game and shooting 48% to bean shooting 40%. He also wasn't shooting 31% in the 4th like bean. He was by far the lakers best player in game 7 with 19 points and 18 rebounds. He averaged 5 offensive rebounds per game that series, many of which were misses by Kobe. He was much better. When it takes an extra 10 shots to score 9 more points, you aren't playing better, you're just pressing the issue and chucking.
You might want to check games 2 and 5 of be 2000 finals in which Kobe scored 2 and 8 points (4 of 20 shooting in game 5). You also might want to see his 6 of 22 shooting performance in a 39 point loss in game 6 of the 2008 finals. For more brilliance of his I would suggest the 2004 finals
