nikka please. If KG stays healthy Boston 3-peat's. And I hated da Celtics WITH A PASSION but that don't cloud my judgement, dat Boston squad was runnin da league before dat KG injury.

What's the difference between PER and efficiency?

I should be clear, when I say efficiency I mean true shooting % or the ease at which someone scores, including the difference between the 3 and 2 point shot. PER is a holistic stat that overweights volume and discounts defensive impact.

Pau didn't have a PER below 22 until 2012, breh. Please try again and recalculate your averages :dead:

His PER and TS% were 3-4% higher than in Memphis from 08-11, are you slow? :dahell:

'08-'11? His PER becomes like 22.5.

So now it's like a 1 point advantage in PER that makes him so much better than in Memphis? That and 3% TS%? I wouldn't call it significant but there it is. I'd still go as far to say it was a better team he was going to that helped increase his efficiency, as better roster/scheme = better efficiency is a normal trend. Like I said his role was a little more different. He wasn't that much better than he was before.

Its around 23.1 PER and a 3-4 % TS increase.....and yes thats pretty damn significant and his numbers dropped as soon as Kobe declined :mindblown:

So a point and a half and about a 3% increase in TS%. Got it.

Again that could be attributed to his own injuries, being used incorrectly (by D'Antoni), and the team's overall decline. Kobe up until his injury in the '13 playoffs didn't decline really. He missed about as much time as Pau in 2012 but that's it.

The lengths not to give Kobe credit :russ:

I literally just said Kobe didn't decline between '11-'13, if anything that's being pretty fair. I guess what you're talking about is me not attributing Pau's statistical decline to Kobe's "decline." It's a little bigger than that. In fact Kobe's usage rates were as high as they were since the mid-2000's and he was putting up big numbers. I don't see decline.

Wanna address the coaching change from Phil Jackson to Mike Brown and Mike D'Antoni and how that affected the gameplan?

Also how would him playing on a hurt foot and being injured in general not affect his performance?

We are done here :dwillhuh:

Well he got more touches under Brown/D'Antoni so naturally yes he put up big numbers. He declined defensively for sure but he was carrying the offenses. Higher usage/more Kobe-centric offense obviously meant he had to do more.

Also would appreciate it if you would respond to my whole post. Still have yet to hear how coaching changes and injuries don't affect player performance. Otherwise we are done here since you won't recognize those factors.

So you'll also remember that Gasol was the #2 while Bosh/Love are or were the third options? That affects their numbers a bit compared to being a second option.

LOL THAT ALSO AFFECTS OUTCOME THO, SO IF BOSH/LOVE WAS LEBRONS SECOND OPTION, HED STILL BE RINGLESS.
