Teachers definitely should not have guns. These are some of the same teachers being outted now as being racist and running white supremacists websites. The same teachers having sex with these kids and running off with them. In Florida where stand your ground is law and the fact that society views 12 year old black boys as men? These same unstable and unprepared teachers having guns would overwhelming lead to black and brown deaths because of teachers feeling threatened. Even the good teachers who are there because they love their job are not suitable for having a gun in the classroom. What if a student ends up with it? Its really stupid and not defendable on any level.

:wtf:
I said she was right... arming teachers is bad idea. What are you guys going on about?
:obama:I’ll roll with it tho...

1. “Capable and qualified” doesn’t mean arm teachers. Could be security.
You argue it won’t help having more officers on campus, cause basically they suck/aren’t trained for this. Yet these horrific events don’t end until armed officers arrive... how’s that work?

2. Inner city schools have had officers and metal detectors for a while now, and when I was in grade school(well over a decade now)guns on campus were common. What do you mean we shouldn’t subject kids to this? Do you mean white kids?

3. Deterrence > Regulation in these instances means we accept that the guns are already out there and that if they weren’t, the parents of these children are law abiding and will pass expanded background checks anyway.
Guns on site may give pause and if it doesn’t there is someone on campus to respond in the exact manner in which police are called to respond.

4. If you push Trump and Republicans to push a button on this issue do you really think it’s gonna be a rifle ban or background check?
:mjlol:It’s gonna be armed teachers... liberal whining screws us again.
You are better off waiting til a nazi isn’t in control.

5. Theses are babies, how much of their childhood are we supposed to snatch?
That emotion. :wow:
My answer is, enough to keep them alive.

76% of American teachers are female and the majority are middle aged.

Dudes really expect a middle aged woman teaching history to transform into John Wick when they hear rounds ringing off? Lmaooo

You really think they gonna hunt a suicidal shooter with a gym bag full of artillery and possibly explosives?

Other countries have successfully used gun buyback programs to reduce the number of guns out there so no, we don't have to accept the fact that the guns are already out there. You knew that though because I've explained it already.

Right: We can't do anything about gun violence. It's hopeless!

Left: Actually America is the only first world country with this type of gun violence and we can implement policies that other countries have used to successfully reduce gun violence.

Right: gun violence would still occur though so there's no point trying! You can't fix it completely!

Left: well there's usually never a perfect solution but the point is to reduce gun violence, as we've been saying the whole time. We're not arguing to completely eliminate it. That's not how the world works.

Right: but now is not the right time! Let's just wait until your so called "good" ones are back in power! Stop whining!

Left: there's never a right time if you keep finding reasons to argue against progress. That's easy to do. Putting pressure on politicians can result in positive changes, even if bad changes are being floated around. Florida has already made some changes even though they're not perfect.

Right: Blah, blah, blah! Freedom!

Left: this shyt again huh?

the internet
why yall stressing about this anyway?

In black schools the worry isnt about mass shootings....its dumb ass neighborhood shyt.
Its lil nikkas getting robbed and beat up.
Being on the wrong block, etc...

These guns arent going anywhere....
...sometimes I question how much time yall actually spent in the hood...
...because if you knew the people, and the dumb shyt that goes on...you would know stricter gun measures on legal guns would do nothing.

We need to up the laws on ILLEGAL weapons.

But then ima guess some of yall will cry racism if they did that.

Buyback programs are fine... but that’s not what is being discussed tho.
... and I don’t buy the it worked on this island over here so it’ll work here in the states argument. America isn’t like anywhere else, and you need to be real careful with side by side comparisons.

That said, a bad investment is a bad investment. If your not going to get a meaningful return, I don’t think you should spend the social resources.
:yeshrug:
Nor do I think this administration is capable of delivering a solution that won’t make things worse.

Doing nothing(legislatively) is what I truly believe is best.

This push to do something is extremely short sighted in my opinion... and will end(if successful) with Trump fukkery and you saying “that’s not what I asked for.”
