I'm not with arming teachers, but I can see deterrent for school shooters if they know there's a couple national guard / army reserve cats on campus with m-16's. I saw they did this in El Salvador and it made me :ohhh:

I think this is a more probable solution than taking guns away.....

I just don't see Americans giving that shyt up....

Nah, an extensive body of evidence and experience has shown that all hardening targets does is shift targets, at best. Say you put those two guys with M-16s on campus (remember, there's 135,000 schools in America, so you're already talking about 270,000 armed guards). Then some shooters would go anyway cause they're crazy.

But the ones who are rational enough to think through it? They would just shift to a softer target instead. They would shoot up one of the school buses in route. Or the soccer game, or the swim meet. They'd shoot up the park where students were having a picnic. The field trip. They'd shoot up the evening PTA event or parent-teacher conferences after the guards have gone home.

You can't sufficiently "harden" every moment of every day in the life of your city. You can't even come close. And making it clear that that's what you're trying to do only ups the predisposition to violence, the allure of guns, the idea that it's a war. Look at anywhere overcome by violence where the USA has an occupied military presence, and ask...do the people feel safer with that hardened base there, or does it only tend to lead to even more violence anywhere the violent can reach?

We're not going to ban guns, but we could do a TON more to control who has access to guns, reduce the supply of illegal guns, and change how people think about guns.

These guns arent going anywhere....
...sometimes I question how much time yall actually spent in the hood...
...because if you knew the people, and the dumb shyt that goes on...you would know stricter gun measures on legal guns would do nothing.

We need to up the laws on ILLEGAL weapons.

But then ima guess some of yall will cry racism if they did that.

The vast majority of "illegal guns" come from someone doing something improper with a legal gun.

Either a straw purchase or moving a legally-bought gun into the black market.

Only like 10% of crime guns are stolen.

If you pass stricter laws regarding the registration and licensing of guns, with strict background checks, you could really dry up those markets to the point where a gun would be more difficult to obtain illegally. No one with a clean record is going to pass a gun to an illegal buyer if he knows there's a firm paper trail that absolutely ties him to that gun.

I’m reading today that the White House vows to arm teachers.
Same talking points?
Demand action while Trumps in office brehs!

Your troll game is to the level where you couldn’t have kids of your own going to school who may potentially get a bullet between the eyes because one of the teachers is having a bad day. :stopitslime:

Trump also said he would release his tax returns, provide medical coverage for everyone, and bring back coal jobs.

The motherfukker literally makes outrageous promises on a regular basis and you think he's gonna follow through with arming teachers??? Unlike his other terrible ideas, hardly anyone actually supports that nonsense. How's that gonna come to fruition exactly?

Putting pressure on politicians is the right move, regardless of who is in power. You may get some actual changes for once and if not, you've already gotten the word out there and the democrats have a new addition to the platform if they can get on the same page.

Sounds like you're preaching the same old "do nothing" talking point to me.

:yeshrug:

everything this liar says just boils down to "dont do anything"

he tries to come at it from 15 different angles
claims someone is right, he concedes
then rolls right back to "do nothing! "

trash.

I co-sign on this.

I'm just trying to figure out how--according to @DEAD7 --the solution to gun problems in school is more guns, while the solution to money problems in school isn't more money.

If you can't trust teachers and admins with money, how are you going to trust them with a deadly weapon? :dahell:

The money isn’t allocated in a just, children first way; kids don’t stop dying during these tragedies til a another gun arrives...

That said, arming teachers is a bad idea as I conceded some time ago.

You’ve got a lot more faith in this government than I... that’s for sure.

Pressuring this Congress to act under the assumption that theirs no way teachers get armed isn’t a gamble I’d take, but:salute:good luck.

:mindblown:

Do you really believe the words coming out of your mouth?

Qualified and capable citizens - Unless they are Navy Seals - are not equipped to deal with school shootings. They train to be teachers, not to be soldiers. Even soldiers have trouble pulling the trigger. But you think Miss Agnes' pea shooter is going to stop and AR-15? Negro, police with pistols waited for backup. So unless you are willing to die stupidly, or Agnes has an M-16 under the desk, arming teacher is a silly idea.:dahell:

Deterrents > Regulations for lawful purchase in the case of these heinous acts - Where in the psychological profile of these sick fukks did it indicate that deterrents would help? These aren't impulse shootings, these psychopaths plan how they are going to go about it. You know what arming teachers does? It gives these shooters CLEAR TARGETS to eliminate before they start on their fellow students. Deterrents will not help in these cases because most of the shooters don't mind dying. I bet Miss Agnes doesn't want to die though. :sas1:

Just admit @wickedsm got you, she got you good and be done with it man, these arguments that you came in here with weren't up to par. No loss in saying you got it wrong and live to be contrary another day.
The idea of arming teachers is so stupid that he can barely put forth talking points worth a damn. Dude just shills whatever the latest deplorable talking point is. At some point you have to step back and examine yourself as a person @DEAD7
