I was just thinking this....
This is the one thing baseball has over basketball.....with the play-in game being game 163 of the regular season for teams with tie records.
imagine a Thunder vs Pelicans play-in game last year
or a Rockets vs Jazz play-in game.
How could anyone who likes basketball not appreciate that? Mathematical tie breakers and shyt are cool but no one really understand it but statisticians. It's another way to build excitement and a revenue stream for the NBA. What's the loss really?

MLB lower seeds also have a higher chance of actually winning in the 1st round. Nobody wants to See 2 teams that are bout to get swept play eachother
