I hate this line of thinking.

1. It's not easy in that moment to think to just let a play continue.

2. If it's a close play that is challenged, the ruling on the field will remain. Replay is not always going to overturn a call on the field even if you think it's the right call to overturn it. Not having indisputable evidence is a big factor in that.
It should be engrained into a ref's head that on a close play like the Brady incomplete pass just let the play keep going as if a fumble happened. It hurts absolutely nothing to let the play happen as if a fumble occurred and then you can always make the exact same call.

How many times do we have to see teams fukked out touchdowns that would swing a game because the ref decided that the play is over. Let it run it's natural course and make the original call. If the original call was right you still end up with the exact same result as you would blowing it dead early. However if the ref is wrong by blowing it dead early now you've fukked over one of the teams where if you let the play run it's natural course it's fair to both teams.

What's the downside? And this has nothing to do with Brady. I bytch about this every damn weak lol.
