HHH's wrestling career would not have been anywhere near as successful had he stayed with Chyna instead of Stephanie

marrying steph assured him main event status or near main even status for as long as he lives, but we know that isn't natural. personally i believe he would be a bigger wrestling legend if he stayed with chyna.

steph is not half the superstar that chyna was. she does nothing to raise his stock other than what she does behind the scenes. when he was with chyna you actually bought him as a main event player.

At the time in the WWE dudes didn't hit women so it put every baby face he encountered in a tough spot having to refrain from knocking her on her ass when she kept interfering on his behalf (Foley, Ahmed Johnson) etc.

That's a dynamic that hadn't really been explored, it worked and it benefited them both greatly.

she was perfect for him. as a heel she provided outside interference and as a face she was able to help him "even the score" against other cheating heels.

plus in the beginning hunter wasn't good enough or known enough to hold it down solo with shawn. if it had been just the 2 of them, he would have been seen as a hype man. chyna legitimized him.
