VGC didn't bother mentioning that one game had pre-orders, and one didn't.
I mean, the game has 6k concurrent players on steam, which is 1k less than Forspoken, neither of their sales are very impressive and the latter is critically panned.
Basically Forspoken bombed sales wise and Hi Fi Rush was a surprise hit, that still didn’t really manage to sell much outside gamepass

Forsaken Forspoken all that other bullshyt is trash. Sony wasted money keeping that title exclusive. Microsoft showing gaming matters even without a big budget

It's cool to see that people like Hi Fi Rush, but one, people trying to make this a thing about it somehow being the opposition to Forspoken is corny. They're in two different spaces, and one game had the headwind of positive reception, while one is fighting against a pretty staunch wave of negative reactions on release.
But the worst is clowns like this developer, who doesn't make AAA scale games, insisting that the $70 price point is bullshyt. Donany of his games need to be $70? No, not at all. They're smaller games built by smaller studios. But when we're talking about something on the scale of your average AAA release that used hundreds to thousands of people in development, then yeah, I can see why games went up $10 after having been locked at $60 for so long.
Now if he wanted to raise an issue with how publishers are borrowing from Hollywood Math to find ways to not share more of those proceeds with the actual developers, that's more my speed.
