But on the real was never a fan of mgs. The og one for the ps1 seemed the most fun. Everything else looked boring.

Look, MGS is a "stealth" game so how the fukk could it compete with GTA a game built on being anti-stealth. Running over pedestrians n shyt. MGS you hide from the bad guys and try to stuff them in lockers. Not the same type of game.

MGS5 looks AWESOME, looks better than anygame outside of Dead Rising and Ryse (Forza 5) and I'm looking way more forward to an open world MGS than I am GTA5. GTA4 the best game ever made sucked. How do I make up lines like that? I didn't, thats what YOU guys said when you voted. (fans/websites/etc) Same ppl said that about MGS4's 6hr adventure.

I think this speaks to a larger point, the Japanese are seeing Western developers pushing the envolope in every which way possible and they are realizing how archaic their philosophies are. Keiji Inafune said something about how closed and behind the times Japanese game development is and that Japan needs to get more Western influence into it's gaming structure, otherwise the best Japan will be able to pull are Niche RPGs and fighters.

Let's keep it funky, the best RPG's of the past 5 or 6 years have all come from the West. Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect. It's not about the quantity but the quality. I mean the best RPG from Japan in the recent years has been the Demon/Dark Soul's series which is really a game based heavily on Western medieval games and arguably Dragon's Dogma.

What I think will happen (and what is beginning to happen) is the Japanese IP's will be developed by Western Studio or some sort of collaborative projects between the two.
