My theory is that prior to the Nilo-Saharan conquest of Nubia, the Nubians were cousins of the Kemetians in terms of language and culture. Even after Nilotes (the dark skinned people from the first image) conquered Nubia, Afro-Asiatics were still a part of the population.

Moreover, since Black people come in various phenotypes (compare a Fulani to a Xhosa to a Tigrayan to a Tuareg to an Igbo) - there's no reason not to believe that the Kemetians could also be described as Black in a 21st century context.
