As far as "theories" go... I can buy into the Simulation theory
A man lives in the sky and "determines" everything that happens (it's all a part of his plan) but the people who he governs have "free will" to do as they please.
Life is a simulation of descendants from the future who have rigged up computers to simulate what life would have been like millions of years ago
Life is a dream for some other being
This phase of life is just like life in the womb and when we die we will reach a new level of consciousness/being
Life is pointless, one day you die and that's it

All of the theories sound equally as plausible and equally as batshyt crazy and inexplicable as the previous or next to me
