Is Bridges projected to be better than Zhaire Smith? I kinda liked that pick for them.. but either way they won the draft.

Zhaire probably has more upside if he fully develops and maxes out thanks to his elite athleticism, but it's more likely he ends up like a Gerald Green type. He can't really shoot and is very raw offensively.

Bridges doesn't have quite the upside but is much more solid and ready to contribute as the best 3 and D guy in the draft day 1. Older lottery pick, mature, composed, won two championships in college. He will definitely help the Suns compete next season addressing key needs, whereas Smith is more of a project.

They not gonna be good enough fast enough to compete with the Warriors :skip:

They REALLY need a point guard that can defend
and hit the 3. If they can get that, if Chriss gets his shyt together, then they'll make the playoffs in like 2 or 3 years. And the final piece to the puzzle would be a FA which they may or may not be able to acquire. Also they have to make sure no one gets injured but injuries are a reality. Luckily they have the best medical staff in the league, or did anyway.
What like Curry?:skip: defense is overrated in this new nba, the fukkin 3 pointer killed it.

"I don't understand what people see in Zhaire Smith. He's a great athlete, but he plays like a 6'2 garbage man.Can barely handle the ball/has no natural ability to go ISO.People are just blinded by his leaping ability.I don't wanna hear the "Oh he's young"....Players either have it or they don't.Zhaire has no nuance to his game.I think he'll be a valuable energy guy off the bench, but I don't see a PLAYER when I look at his film.Mikal Bridges will be a top 5 player from this class. He's the ultimate 3 & D guy. That being said, the Sixers did a great job of wrestling that unprotected 2021 Miami pick from the Suns."

I saw this on another board. It's exactly how I feel about Zhaire Smith.Sixers already had a player like Smith in K.J. McDaniels.

McDaniel's had better size, tho.Only way I'd buy into Zhaire's potential is if he showed the ability to score one on one.I see none of that

in his scout videos. That's something that players have naturally.Whether they're 25 or 12.As an undersized perimeter player, it's a must.

You MUST be able to excel in ISO.I see Zhaire as a 6th/7th man off the bench/energy plug/crowd pleaser.

They have a nice young core but there gonna regret trading the heat pick. The 2020 hs class who will be in the 2021 draft is one of the best we’ve seen in years and the Heat roster is not very good and in three years Dragic will be past his prime and that’s not a very good roster.

The Suns make it seem like that’s too far away like they must compete next year or else lol. Sixers are contending now and still have the patience to wait on a possible powerball lotto ticket why can’t the Suns?

That’s what happens when you have a desperate gm who doesn’t care about the future because he’s trying to save his job

Mikal Bridges is overrated. He’s a good shooter. But his defensive prowess is all echo chamber scouting. He wasn’t quick enough to guard good 2s or strong enough to guard good 4s, in college. He’s got plus length and he doesn’t appear to be anything less than a solid athlete. That normally would absolve concerns about defensive tape to me, but he’s a 4 year player who’s primary role was already as a 3&D guy. This isn’t Klay Thompson having to be the go to guy at Wazzu. The fact that he wasn’t superlative there is a big issue.

He was boosted this cycle because the wing class was painfully weak at the top.

Overall like the suns draft though. Ayton should be an immediate producer at 5. Like Okobo as guard depth as well. Interesting team to watch.
