Most younger cats too soft and stupid ( can’t stop smokin ) to do the work :manny:

I tried puttin dudes on, my trade is about to be in a vacuum because all of these baby boomers less than 5 years from retirement. Apprentices make more than fukkin engineers in my field with pensions and 401ks paid for, cell phones, work trucks, gas cards etc...

But nikkas want to pay a college to learn and do bytch work while sittin behind a desk lookin a computer screen :mjlol:You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make em drink.

These Mexicans and white boys ain’t passin it up tho so next time Billy or Juan doin work for you and you get that bill charged at 135$ a work hour plus materials you know what it is already :manny:
What's this trade you talking about breh? :feedme:

I graduated high school in the midst of the ressession - 07. I wanted to do a trade at the time but no one was hiring and apprenticeships were hard to come by. Intead I traded my time for 50,000 dollars in debt and 8 hours per day clicking meaningless icons on a computer while sitting slumped over in a grey cubicle in a hard cushion back breaking chair.

The Truth
I’m honestly all for trades

It just depends on the trade you get into

Construction, car maintenance and repair, IT, HVAC, Truck Driving, welding, etc.

I got a homie that went to one trade school and now he works for Tesla

And on top of that, usually your job will pay for extra training.

Experience + trade skills = employed.

I believe in school but I also know that most people can’t afford to get in 50k+ in debt just to start off making 30-40k.

My cousin got a degree and is a cop. He doesn’t even make 40k yet with experience and a degree.

Degrees are good but not everyone grabs a degree and hit the ground running. I would say get a degree if you’re trying to go into law or medical. But if you want a stepping stone then get a trade.

shyt even bartenders get bread. Bartender school is like 2 weeks. Barbers/stylists can make bread too. Real estate, plumbers, bailbondsmen, pharmacy techs, xray techs, etc.

My whole thing is to try and get multiple sources of income. 3 checks making around 10k a month is easy. My grandfather was a teacher and did construction on the side. Always had bread

Man you can’t forget lot of these cats live in states with weak union presence( southern states, out west) so when we talk bout big union dollars it like :mindblown: to them. Chicago and NYC some of the last cities in the nation where unions still got everything on lock.

I was looking at union laborer jobs down in Louisiana , they journeyman rate is the same for a second year apprentice up here :camby:

Man you try to give nikkas the blueprint to earn a great living+ great benefits with a little hard physical work and they start spewing nonsense & straight up BS.

But if this was a IT thread or coding Thread they’d be all up in it :pachaha:

Real talk I am from chicago and them unions jobs be no joke. Problem is they are hard as hell to get but you get one you set for life.

Up north and out west they believe in unions and they are hard to break. Reason why down south got all these jobs are because of right to work states and the unions are nonexistent or weak as watered down kool aid.

Another thing in certain places like seattle the unions are even for white collar workers. My boy was an engineer in aerospace out in seattle. He was covered by the union just like the technicians, operators and aviation mechanics. So he got the same union benefits and pay raises that the blue collar workers got.

If you live in the grey states you might as well not even work union cuz you’ll make pennies :mjlol:

States with strong unions have better paid workers, that’s a fact

whats crazy is college grad will struggle with their useless degree before going to get a useless trade.

It is the status symbol. I will never forget how when I was in college I stayed an extra year to graduate undergrad. My neighbor at the time was bragging how she had gotten her undergra degree in 3 years and was working on her masters.

The thing is her undergrad degree was in general studies and she had to go back to school because her degree was worthless and she couldn't get a job.

I wouldn't say that all the way. I would say that your union if you have one isn't as strong.

So say my uncle got a gig in chicago with the union his benefits are a lot better than say someone in dallas.

But their salaries can be the same. I have worked with a lot of union folks out here and these folks clock crazy bread (especially with OT). One reason is Dallas has more jobs than eligible employees. So there is nothing for some aerospace mechanic or some operator to make 100k plus.

shyt when I worked at one facility all the folks in the parking lots who had nice cars were either blue collar folks or in management. I remember one kat at the facility who was an operator (like 21 years old) told me he made 110k the previous year and all he did was sit behind a computer and print labels all day for plane harnesses.........:russ:

Not to mention places like Texas, Louisiana, alabama and Mississippi all have a lot of workers who work in oil. These kats make 100k easily if they dont mind working the oil fields or on rigs. My brother in-law used to work for Diamond and Schlumberger.

Chicago plumbers union: $49.75

Trades aren’t abundant everywhere, there are definitely markets in need of more tradespeople and if the boomers actually retire, that need will likely increase.
The choice for a whole lot of people isn’t trades or college, and Black people in the US are still massively underrepresented in both trades and college.
I’d push for both, especially since Black kids who are in urban schools often choose to do neither.

:mjlol:cacs be the worst with this shyt

:mjlol:they act like we shouldn't have both people in the academic field and the trades

:salute:why I salute all my brehs outchea, whether you flip burgers, code, teach, mix concrete, help the sick or draw, you're appreciated

:salute:and these youngin's out here joining/starting them unions too Why Young People Are Joining Unions Again

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I’m getting my masters degree next month debt free all paid for but honestly trade school sounds much more fun than sitting in a classroom all day learning about the same subjects over and over again
