Ranking anyone like this at anytime is never a good thing for people on the list or who aren’t on the list, especially those who already suffer from self-esteem issues. I really wish people would stop thinking that doing polls ranking someone’s attractiveness is ever a good thing. People dismiss it because it happened in their time but that never makes it right.

Why is it anyone’s problem to deal with someone else self-esteem? :why:

And if you’re so fragile enough that something like this can actually hurt you, then they ain’t gonna survive in life and should just go ahead and commit that :mjlol:

We had lists like this that circulated the school. It was called the “report card” and you were ranked on your face, ass, body, personality, and then overall.

I have no issue with high schoolers being punished for this. It’s hurtful and objectifying. By the time you boys and girls enter middle school they know that not everyone will find them attractive or special, but that doesn’t mean it should be reinforced by a tangible list that is passed around the school.

Kids don't realize that high school feels like an eternity, but it's over in a flash. I'm only 33 and just realized I've been out of H.S. for 15 years in May. I think because you grow up with a lot of those people from K-12, that you kind of get "stuck" in an identity and it's hard to shake (good or bad). I've experienced more fun and enjoyable shyt since graduating college than I ever did in H.S. High school wasn't bad...made some great friends and had fun, but it's definitely not the peak. The shyt that happens there really doesn't matter unless you knock up some broad or have some other serious life-changing event.

people only get offended because they aren't ranked highly on the list.
Promise you if a girl found out this happened but she was ranked number one, she'd be like

The boys at my high school, did the exact same thing.Only difference is we did not have social media back then. It's weird now, but looking back I got really offended to be ranked as ugly, but now as I have gotten older I am not offended if someone thinks Im ugly or not. Especially men

Yes that’s another element I think is important. This isn’t as big of a deal in your 20s and up, but during those formative years this can be and is really damaging, especially to young girls. I was always ranked highly on the “body” portion of the rankings because I was that 12 year old girl with the T&A of a grown woman and I was extremely uncomfortable with attention being drawn to it at the time and I hated knowing I was being discussed in that way.

Some male students at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Maryland have been disciplined after it was discovered they created and shared a list on social media on which they ranked their female classmates based on their looks.

According to school officials, the students targeted 18 senior girls by creating a list with their first names and a rating beside each.

“I think, honestly, the consensus was that it wasn’t an OK thing at all, and all the girls, they kind of banded together and took it on as a team because it was really hurtful to a lot of people,” a female student told NBC4." “I think, honestly, the consensus was that it wasn’t an OK thing at all, and all the girls, they kind of banded together and took it on as a team because it was really hurtful to a lot of people,” a female student told NBC4.

Although Jones said that the students were disciplined based on the school system’s code of conduct, some students believe more should have been done.

“I don’t think [the administration] handled it well at all,” senior Jane Corcoran, whose name was on the list, told Bethesda Magazine. “Basically, what admin did, in my honest opinion, by dismissing it and not giving the boys a strong punishment, is saying, ‘Boys will be boys and that’s OK. We can’t get them in trouble for something immature guys do.’ ”

According to Corcoran, a group of 50 boys circulated the list for a year before a female student saw it open on a laptop in class two weeks ago.

Female students told the news outlet that one male student was the “ringleader,” and he received a brief in-school suspension, whereas the rest of the boys were not punished.

Corcoran said that a meeting was organized for the girls involved to share their feelings while the boys “sat and listened.” To the student, it “wasn’t good enough.”

t was like seeing everything you are insecure about brought to you by someone else. Putting a number on a girl like this is the same as any other slur — a homophobic or racial slur. It’s a way to degrade women,” she said." “It was like seeing everything you are insecure about brought to you by someone else. The list always exists whether you write it in stone or not. There’s always the baddest girl/nikka on campus and then it’s downhill from there
