Comes down to the individual, I can give you the tools to become successful, it doesn't mean that you'll necessarily succeed. There is no critical thinking in school.
You can't question the books given... Especially History.
You must have had some horrible teacher in school breh. My history professor in college had us reading primary sources, from there we were able to come up with our own analysis what really happened, sohh yes we did question the book, because given context clues we're be able to arrive our very on conclusion, history can be very subjective imo....Thus why in my European history class, we had a 30 minute debate between two black males, on whether or not Frederick the III of Germany(Prussia) was Enlightened or not(sh*t was piff)
sohh what is, life is a simulation brehWhat world some of you posters live in is not real.
fair enough if you're talking about how public schools put pressure on teachers to pass Standardized Test, which have no impact on a students' grade.....SOL( Standard of Learning) has nothing to do with learning but to test students on questions the people who created SOL don't know the answers to.
(x^3 + 5x^2+6x)/(x^2 - x - 12) isn't going to help you keep your lights on.
baby steps breh
Crawl >>>>>> Walk >>>>> Run

Tell that to the Scientist / Researchers and Engineers who do a higher advanced form of math(calculus) everyday
I mean it's cool if you like flying on planes not engineered by mathematics or seeking help from doctors who lack the ability to critically think on a moments notice. Oh bu bu bu but not everyone is going to be a doctor or engineer, sohh are we going stop people trying anyway. Yes, people should be remain in a state ignorance and remain dumb and never question the people in charge. How dare we educate people to think like scientist or doctors.
I swear society could be on a brink of a new enlightenment, not seen since the 17-18th century(noticed I just referenced history) but all you anti-academic, smart-dumb, pseudo-intellectual, homo sapiens (the majority) keep stopping progress.
Imagine if science had a fraction of this country's support (25%), we could be doing big things.
@ NASA's Rover budget being as small as 2.5 billion yet still engineering it to perfectly land on Mars, complete various task. Yet it's ok to blow through a few billion monthly in the Middle East
/End rant

Now that I remember this happened a few times. I saw "stand and deliver" and "forest gump" at least 6 times while I was in high school...
@ don't be a menace, isn't that Rated R
I wasn't even going to mention the 3 r's. More or less, like I said in my opening statement, overall it comes down to the individual. The road to success is basically paved out, essentially if you take care of your priorities. Go to school M-F. Do your homework, ask question in class if you're not sure about something, go to the public library for help. In modern times, you have various applications and websites dedicated to enhancing the learning process (ie KhanAcademy). It really comes down to personally willpower and luck. Get grades in school, land a fully paid scholarship to a top tier school. Learn new concepts, f*ck hoes, then graduate. Get a nice kushy 50k+ job, pay your taxes, vote and become a productive citizen. I know this a very hard path to follow....
. Also people began to question authority and religion.
. When Blacks and Native Americans were enslaved in America and Europe while White Europeans and Americans became Atheists.
adolescents.
The first thing I did when I got to college was take a series of courses on AA history. I wanted a different perspective of history. Honestly, I've noticed a lot of you assclowns in HL, subscribe to Booker T. Washington's philosophy of working hard and not educating yourselves to the full 5/5 th's
here we go picking and choosing when to acknowledge and reference science. Never mind the computer you're using right now, was made possible through scientific innovation. You have to be a complete idiot write off science because a few people in power decide to use it for empirical benefits. Nevermind that humans having been going to war for years, decades, centuries, and most likely since the beginning of time.
