Succeeding Against the Odds by John H Johnson (one of my two favorite books)
Who Owns The Ice House by Clifton Taulbert

man y'all do all this reading on race…the fukk does it do for you though?
Especially if you only read one point of view…it doesn't add anything to your thought process.

Nah, I actually read non-black authors' point of view too, but when it comes to blacks perspective I want to hear it from my own people. There's a lot of black authors who may have lived more than you or me both, or attended prestigious colleges, or are very wealthy, or may have seen more of the streets than you. It actually adds a lot to your thought process, if you are an introspective person.

It's a good book, I've owned it for some time now. However it's also very tragic, Baratunde Thurston reminds me of Lionel from Dear White People, I think he secretly struggles to belong because he's so different. Which is what the book is about, his pops was a drug dealer that was killed in KFC selling dope, and his moms was a low key hoodrat turned black activist and pushed him to be better in life without actually achieving the reality she dreamed for him, leaving him confused. His "How To Be An Angry Negro" chapter...I think he's secretly the "Black Superhero" he's referring to. Nonetheless it's a really good read.

I commend him though for graduating from Harvard.

The United-Independent Compensatory Code/System/Concept Textbook

by Neely Fuller Jr
(www.producejustice.com)

The United-Independent Compensatory Code/System/Concept (“The Compensatory Code”) is a term that means, when expressed in practice, the sum total of everything that is thought, said, or done by one individual Non-White person, who is a Victim of Racism [Victim of White Supremacy] that is effective in helping to eliminate Racism (White Supremacy), and/or in helping to “make up” for the lack of justice and correctness, in any one or more areas of activity, including Economics, Education, Entertainment, Labor, Law, Politics, Religion, Sex, and/or War/Counter-War.

The purpose of this Work is show how to think, speak, and act according to the Compensatory Code Think seriously about everything that you read in this Book. Speak and/or Act only in support of those observations that you believe will help most to: (1) reveal truth, (2) promote justice, and (3) promote correctness.

Just curious what is it about?

It's the autobiography of now deceased Black Panther Eldridge Cleaver. It details his time in prison and the inner turmoil he faced throughout his life (Even when he was apart of the Panthers). It's a really good read, but be prepared to be shocked and offended by his thoughts and actions.
