No disrespect, but you're right. I called that out after the first podcast, and said of course a Hip Hop audience would like you. You're anti-institution, the facts are secondary.
Let me put it like this, on the podcast, you're Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco and to a lesser extent my man Nas, you have all that passion and emotion and may be "self-learned" but it doesn't equate to an actual, all-encompassing understanding of the minutia of an issue. It's easy to posture, but harder to deal with realities and application of your principles to real world situations.
You argue in a simplified world and argue using abstractions, when pressed for detailed factual information, you come up short. Unlike VVD, who will say "I'm no pro on this subject." NOW, your energy is probably the best part of the podcast. Which is why I was initially for deciding topics ahead of time and having people at least brief themselves and read up before the topic. It would make the podcast stronger. That's my two cents.
