Are you serious ?It's the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 so the question remains....Where is H.L. going in direction? It seems it's constantly going in the direction of the last sohh years where mods would censor free speech and trolls that the mod favor continuously reign without any consequences. I really stopped making threads as much because this is what H.L. is becoming. I see alot of great posters come on rarely to respond or post now because their threads have been moved, censored, deleted in the past year. For example: I posted something yesterday and @Liu Kang blocked it because he felt his material debunked my thread when he didn't even read what was addressed in the thread in the first place. He saw the link and googled it and copy and pasted an outdated article to compare it to the recent and updated article I posted.
What is Higher Learning suppose to be? Is it constant threads about white vs. black, atheists vs. Islam and just copying and pasting new articles of the week? Is it censorship of individuals who speak their minds on social/political viewpoints? Where are the debates, discussions and critical thinking threads? Sadly the more discussions are built outside of this forum in the Locker Room. No Ignorance or Trolling and yet it is rampant in this forum. Obviously making threads about Who is the best and worst poster seems to be more important.
Make your viewpoint on the direction you see for H.L. - Btw....your personal opinion about me is irrelevant to the discussion.

You're posting two different events happening in the same place with no causality, without even any hint of causality and you think that's thread worthy ? Don't you understand that because two events happened at the same place, it is not the beginning of an embryo of evidence that there are related. If I piss on some grass in 2014 and a specific flower blossoms at the same exact place in 2016, I need more that the very events to prove that the two are even related considering that 730 days happened between. Had you provided us with a proper reasoning about it and how the police acted on orders, following said plan or whatever, the thread would still be opened. I let conspiracy or tendentious threads live in HL when OP makes a little more effort than quoting a few links or posting a YouTube video.
But nah, you posted a link about a project planning in some place, then you posted another link about fires and looting happening at the said place and then not only did you conclude that the two were linked by magic (avoiding the whole Ferguson case and how that street was highly symbolic but still) but you got as far as concluding that the "Ferguson Riot Police Allowed Buildings to Burn Down for Redevelopment Plan" on some Machiavellian stuff lol. All that, obviously, without proof. If we are being serious about debating and want to improve HL's quality, mods can't let baseless threads like the one you posted live. Let's be real, your Dora the Explorer thesis was not serious enough for HL, point blank. You want to make a thread about a conspiracy theory, fine, but put some work in it, otherwise it will be locked, moved to the Conspiracy Thread or the Bushes or simply deleted.
And about me posting a supposedly outdated link, you gotta be kidding right ?
First, it was proof that the Great Street Initiative was not of 2012 but was already launched in 2006 (though the West Florissant Ave may not have been targeted from the beginning, I'll give you that) therefore 8 years before the riots and second, you only had to click on "What is the St. Louis Great Streets Initiative?" on the menu of the official West Florissant Avenue development site (http://www.westflorissantave.com/) to know that.
If you guys are interested, you can downloaded the WFA (West Florrisant Avenue) Final Master Plan here (PDF link : http://www.westflorissantave.com/files/managed/Document/59/WFA_Final Master Plan.pdf) and conclude by yourselves.
