Its funny
High and low and The bad sleep well are my fav Kurosawa movies. Both of them dont have Samurai in them
Maybe this will go better than that Oldboy remake.

Original is a great move. Denzel and Spike lee is a great team. I just would wish they didn't have to announce a remake....just say they are making a story about kidnapping and rich guy without the expectations to measure up to the og movie

Reminds me how of Da 5 Bloods was heavily inspired by Treasure of the Sierra Madre. However, we didnt know that. Less expectations and able to do more of your own thing that way.

Still hopeful.

If the studio or whomever acquires the rights they HAVE to legally announce it as a remake or they’d get sued.
