Bless her heart but the wife was so bad I had to check IMDB and see if she was an actual actress or if Spike was doing charity :russ: She's got a decent amount of work so maybe it was just this specific role but she had zero feel for it. ASAPs girl wasn't good either but you could tell she was a first timer.

Film was a love letter to NYC and Denzel/Jeffery delivered as always, last 15-20 minutes felt especially flat though.

REALLY enjoyed it. You could tell Denzel was having a ball throughout and he and Jeffrey Wright had incredible chemistry.

The train sequence/ransom drop off was fantastic. Asap did a good job overall.
Denzel was having a ball because he got paid for a mail in performance lol. 8/10 your delusional lol

I enjoyed it, but understand if it gets bad reviews. There were a lot of weird moments and overtly ‘off’ things

-ASAP being 35 is hella wierd. This is a role seems more conducive to someone like 18-22.

-The phone call Denzel got when they kidnapped him was confusing af. He and the wife’s reaction was so subdued. I honestly thought the angle was gonna be Denzel’s character staged it

-The money drop scene overlayed with the Yankees game and John Turturo and the Puerto Rican day parade was :banderas:

-But then the fight scene was ridiculous. 70 year old Denzel going John Wick was not believable

-ASAP’s acting was silly ‘let me die!’ :why::dead:

-The back n forth when they first met in the studio was a highlight. Denzel a real asa ngga :russ:

I was actually visiting a shorty in Brooklyn and watched the movie a block away from Spile Lee’s joint. She said a great deal of the scenes were right on that block

movie seemed a bit long winded.. and the pacing was off like someone said .. asap did feel a bit forced.. but powered through because of Denzel and wright.

movie felt 2000s.. not 90s imo.. which is weird since they kept mentioning how Denzel was behind the times..and boomer sort of..

best parts: color. ny. wright upstaged Denzel in all there scenes imo. score

bad parts : moped get away thing... shyt felt cartoony... the fight on the train is a weak point as well ...

THhs was a solid flick I felt like some of the scene transitions and pacing were off at points in the film that was my only issue. The acting was great, especially the scenes where Denzel's goes back and fourth with Jeffrey Wright, Michael Potts and Wendell Pierce. I was kind of surprised at how close it followed the OG storyline. Spike Lee, Scorcese and The Safdie Brothers are the few directors working today that know how to realistically depict NYC without making it seem like a theme park. The money exchange scene was great, one of the best scene's I've seen in a minute.
