Is this based on streams?

If not, who the hell is still buying Take Care?

It’s based on everything. The ways people consume music by paying for it.

Albums like Take Care likely have many songs in people’s go to playlists.

I guess GKMC too, but more likely Kendrick is gaining new fans too

Gkmc is the longuest charting rap album ever, it sells every year like crazy even when kendrick is silent. Was also the Best selling rap album on vinyl pretty much every year

It was the best rap album of last decade and I guess many magazines might’ve even ranked it top 3 in all genres. So it makes sense.

But I was assuming new fans too. Cause was it really that high before the beefs? Being top 200 is one thing, being top like 20-30 is another

Yeah its been high all the time, it also sold more the previous years than in 2024, which kinda proves the beef really didn't impact Kendrick's sales at all. And gkmc being the best rap album on vinyl was before the beef as well

Billboard also named DAMN the 2nd biggest rap album of the century in terms of chart performances, most of the sales coming from before the beef
