Nah, Hollywood is running low on traditional action stars. Him and The Rock arent going anywhere even if they bomb repeatedly.
I feel this movie will be impossible to mess up especially with the John Wick team. Just make it good action with no feminist pandering and if it is Rated R decent gore and folks will be in.
The Rock has built up enough cache to withstand knocks, Cavil has not, he is in his 40s now was supposed to be the next big thing. Funny you mention The Rock as he is part of the reason Cavill has stalled somewhat.

I like the cast and everything shown so far but who's on the soundtrack? First one had Queen and it was nothing but bangers. They're still around but with Adan Lambert as the lead, the plan to bring them back or going a different route

Rock's ex wife and current business partner represented Cavill at one point, Rock tried to use that connection in his failed move to take over DCEU, Cavill's career seems to have been collateral

This could be a breakout hit. Highlander has enough name recognition but the fight scenes need to be intense. Not many sword fighting movies since Pirates
I agree, we've already bought into the story and lore... as long as they stick to the script and focus on slick action, this is a hit.
