WWE was shook off this crowd though, no doubt about that. They booked this show specifically to cater to them. Giving them Wyatt's/Shield, a Uso's title win, Dolph Ziggler getting a win, Daniel Bryan promo and main event match. No Cena match, barely any HHH/Steph/Batista/Orton.

In the end, it was actually WWE that got worked, because this crowd, or the threat of this crowd, pushed them to give us something better than the run of the mill bullshyt they usually throw out there.
in fairness, i think their putting their best foot foward for 2 other reasons

1. Its Wrestlemania season so more eyes are likely on RAW each week
2. The WWE Network brought more unknown or returning eyes back to the Raw show

but yeah, i do think they gave Chicago a good show to take up for CM Punk ditching them as well:manny:

I'm sure it's just a coincidence WWE put on one of their best shows in a long time in front of that crowd :comeon:

Chi, LA, NY usually get the better cards breh. How long have you been watching wrestling? :ld:

HHH was shook yet he handled that crowd with EASE.

Raw ended with Bryan beat down, just like it has dozens of times before and just like before there was nothing the crowd could do. :banderas:

They thought they were going to #hijack Raw instead they were the ones who got worked. :mjlol: I don't remember which wrestler it was that said "Smarks are easier to work than the marks" but god damn he was spot on.

They don't give a fukk. WWE won last night.

"The cruelest thing I can tell a passionate, dedicated smark is that the more he knows the less he matters to WWE. The smark is the one person the company knows will be watching the show every week, no matter what"

"The WWE doesn't care what a smark with a bookshelf full of Ring Of Honor bootlegs thinks. They care about marrying their company to Marvel Studios when Dave Bautista stars in "Guardians of the Galaxy" this August. They care about 7-year-olds and the uninitiated. If you're a self-professed smark who couldn't see a Batista title run dovetailing with a summer movie PR tour as soon as his casting was announced, you're not that damn smarky. If you ever believed #hijackRAW would do anything other than help WWE make more money, you don't understand this niche of pop culture (which you likely love more than anything else)."

Exactly. nikkas too busy grippin Trips nuts to admit that the E compromised, although it wasn't a full surrender.

And honestly, if E gave a full unconditional surrender (gave Punk the $$ to show up, inserted DB into the ME, gave a shoot "apology"), would anyone even respect the E after that?

It's all about balance. The relationship between E and the Verse is like any man-woman thing. The E fukks the Verse (gives a good show), then beats the Verse (shytty booking), then when the Verse threatens to leave or tell its momma that the E is such a big meanie who don't appreciate her, then E takes the Verse out for dinner (last nite's RAW) to salvage the relationship,

A small compromise, but a compromise nonetheless.

We're kliq'd up but I gotta respectfully disagree with with you. That first hour was a marks wet dream, I think that was directly because of the crowd and the E wanting to control the crowd. It could have been ugly last night but they booked that first hour about as good you could book an hour and I don't think that was a coincidence. They even threw in a Ziggler win to keep'em happy. Even the Bryan beatdown was done in a way that did a great job of furthering the Dbry/Authority beef along.

I remember seeing a shoot with Raven where he said that the self-professed smarks are easier to work than the regular fans, it sure seems like that's the case. Just throw them a bone that has the tiniest hint of internet gossip confirmation and they'll go nuts over it and dissect/debate the ramifications for weeks.

I don't really care what prompted the upturn in the show. Whether it was the intended plan, whether a Chi crowd influenced the booking, whether the introduction of the Network has had an effect... all I care about is that the show is dope and to me, that was booked very well last night and when it finished I was like :obama:

Breh. Hour one was the only watchable hour. Everything else sucked.

What these morons like the Chicago Crowd twitter failed to realize that as long as the building is sold-out and ratings are a steady pace, WWE is :win: anyway. A half empty crowd where the upper levels are tar off will send the big message, not chanting "CM Punk" or "We Want Ziggler" chants :heh:
