Joe doesn't want it. He can always give his delegates to Bernie to put him over, which I'm sure he will do. I think Joe identifies more with Bernie than Hillary anyway, which is why he's barely weighed in to this cycle. When he has, he's been complimentary to Sanders.

I doubt they'd give Joe's delegates to an unknown who has won any votes, which is all that would be left. I'm also sure the super delegates would then be wide open to support whomever, and Bernie's appeal would be their death knell if they went against the will of their voters twice. Also moderately sure that Bernie would also be able to appeal to the delegates already pledged. They would be open as well.
